Fort St. John Huskies captain named a league ‘star of the week’
Captain Grayden Alexander earned the North West Junior Hockey League (NWJHL) ‘star of the week’ title after tallying three goals and five assists for eight points and helping lead the Huskies to a pair of wins over the weekend.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The Fort St. John Huskies’ captain has been named one of the North West Junior Hockey League’s (NWJHL) top ‘stars of the week.’
The NWJHL announced the Strike ‘stars of the week’ in a Facebook post on October 28th, with Huskies captain Grayden Alexander named as one of two recipients.
Alexander earned the honour after tallying three goals and five assists for eight points, helping lead the Huskies to a pair of wins over the weekend.

The recognition comes as the Huskies extended their winning streak to seven games. Following the wins on the weekend, head coach Todd Alexander told Energeticcity.ca the team is beginning to play more cohesively.
“We’re starting to play within [the] system,” Todd said. “We played really good. Our power play was clicking. The lines were playing really well. We did a lot of things we are supposed to be doing.”
On Saturday, October 25th, the Huskies downed the County of Grande Prairie Wheat Kings 7-4, powered by three second-period goals. Grayden scored once and added three assists.
The next afternoon, the Huskies returned home to defeat the Dawson Creek Kodiaks 5-4, with Grayden recording two goals in the victory.
