FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The regional district is hosting a slew of open houses across the region in November.

During the October 2nd committee of the whole meeting, the Peace River Regional District (PRRD) board of directors reviewed a list of open houses scheduled throughout the region in November for the recently-announced Regional Zoning Bylaw.

Ashley Murphey, the general manager of development services at the PRRD, presented an update on the second round of public engagement, which will include 15 open houses in communities throughout the Peace River region on their priorities for future land use rules.

A survey was released to the public on October 1st, which will be available online and in-person until November 30th.

Murphey explained staff are organizing a series of “cross-region in-person engagement events” throughout November to accompany the online survey and the PRRD’s “have your say” webpage.

“We’ve tried to get out to as many of the rural communities as possible,” Murphey stated.
