According to Environment Canada, gusty winds may damage soft shelters, tents and awnings at outdoor events. Loose objects can also become airborne and pose a risk of injury or property damage.

Officials urge residents to secure outdoor items and continue monitoring forecasts and alerts. Severe weather can be reported by emailing BCstorm@ec.gc.ca or posting updates on X (formerly Twitter) using #BCStorm.
