“[Shailynn] has been a dedicated volunteer for Wellness Truth and Family Foundation since we incorporated,” the nomination letter reads.
“She has always been there to help with our at-risk youth both during and outside of group. She brings a strong perspective on social justice and values, making sure the youth of our future learn their rights not only as Canadian citizens, but their responsibilities to be good humans in our community as well.”
For Foster, receiving the award has been both exciting and humbling.
“It feels a little surreal to receive an award like this, because I know how many amazing people in this community do so much,” she said in a statement issued to Energeticcity.ca.
