No loss of life: RCMP confirm Fort St. John response was not for death

Fort St. John RCMP officers have confirmed rumours about a loss of life near the Salvation Army building on August 28th are not true.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Police officers have confirmed rumours about a loss of life near the Salvation Army building this week are unfounded.

Residents took to social media on Thursday, August 28th shortly before 7:30 p.m. to post about police cars being spotted in the area.

No information had been shared by police yet, but rumours began circulating on social media that officers were responding to a fatal stabbing.

Fort St. John RCMP media relations officer Christiaan Dreyer told Energeticcity.ca that there was no loss of life, and there is no current threat to public safety.

Dreyer didn’t reveal any further details but did say a press release regarding the incident was on the way.
