The change eliminates the need for riders to show their pass to drivers, which BC Transit says will “create a universal rider experience, matching other BC Transit fixed-route fare products.”

BC Transit also says the update aligns with TransLink services and will help it collect better ridership data to improve service planning.

The BC Bus Pass Program offers annual passes for low-income seniors and individuals receiving disability assistance, helping them stay connected to their communities, according to BC Transit.
