(UPDATE) Highway reopened south of Dawson Creek after ‘vehicle incident’ which sees two taken to hospital

Highway 2 between Wade Road and Arndt Road was shut in the afternoon of August 23rd.

Update, 10:40 a.m., August 24th: Highway 2 has now reopened.

DAWSON CREEK, B.C. — A highway south of Dawson Creek has been closed in both directions this afternoon. 

According to DriveBC, Highway 2 between Wade Road and Arndt Road was shut on August 23rd due to a  “vehicle incident” around eight kilometres south of Pouce Coupe.

The BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) told Energeticcity.ca it was called at just before 2 p.m.

One ambulance responded to the scene, and paramedics gave emergency medical treatment to two patients, who were both transported to hospital in a stable condition.

DriveBC says an assessment is in progress and a detour is available via the Old Edmonton Highway. 

Energeticcity.ca has reached out to the RCMP for more information about the incident, and will update this story as it becomes available.
