The city sent an email notice on August 19th that it is “accepting expressions of interest from individuals who wish to be considered for a position on the Library Board.”

Eligible applicants must be electors of the city or the Peace River Regional District.

Councillor Gregg Apolonio, who represents the Library Board, says the recruitment is part of the city’s regular process.

“We normally renew the board of directors every year, [around] September,” Apolonio explained. “Some members have finished their terms, because normally there’s a term limit.”

Those interested are asked to submit an expression of interest by 4:30 p.m. on September 15th, either by email (admin@dawsoncreek.ca) or in person at City Hall.

Applications should include a brief statement on how the board would benefit from the applicant’s membership.

The successful candidate will serve a one-year term ending November 30th, 2026, with the possibility of reappointment for additional two-year terms, up to a maximum of eight years.

Board members are expected to attend one regular meeting per month, with occasional additional meetings called by the chair.
