Arraignment hearings set for trio accused of manslaughter in Fort St. John

Three people charged with manslaughter in Fort St. John after an incident in June are set to enter their pleas in early September.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The three people arrested for manslaughter in Fort St. John earlier this summer are set to enter their pleas in early September.

Katlin Coda, Ethan Dore and Dyllon Cazes were all arrested and charged with manslaughter after a person died in Fort St. John on June 24th in the parking lot of Fort St. John Alliance Church on 99th Avenue.

Following hearings on Monday, August 18th to consult with counsel, Court Services Online (CSO) now says the trio will be returning to court for arraignment hearings on September 8th.

According to the Provincial Court of British Columbia’s website, arraignment hearings are “usually the hearing where [the accused will] plead guilty or not guilty to the criminal charge.”

A publication ban is in effect covering the details of the accused’s bail hearings. 

Meanwhile, the Fort St. John RCMP detachment’s investigation into the incident continues.
