Fort St. John DQ raises over $14k on Miracle Treat Day 2025

Fort St. John’s Dairy Queen sold more than 1,600 Blizzards and raised more than $14,600 for the BC Children’s Hospital during Miracle Treat Day 2025.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Fort St. John locals enjoyed more than 1,600 Blizzards to mark Miracle Treat Day this year and raise money for a children’s hospital.

Fort St. John’s Dairy Queen raised more than $14,600 for the BC Children’s Hospital during Miracle Treat Day 2025 on August 14th.

Owner of the Fort St. John Dairy Queen, Linda Patterson, said the community came out in full force last Thursday, purchasing 1,610 ice creams in support of the cause.

“Once again, Fort St. John showed up when it counted,” Patterson said in a statement to Energeticcity.ca. “We live in an amazing community. Thank you, Fort St. John.”

Businesses across the city placed 42 pre-orders, totalling 741 Blizzards, which staff prepared the night before, staying at the store until 2 a.m. to ensure they were ready.

In addition to Blizzard sales, the community contributed $4,233.46 in public donations. Combined with Dairy Queen’s donation of $10,363.66 from sales, a total of $14,627.12 was sent to the BC Children’s Hospital.

Last year’s donation total was $12,971.97, with $1,300 from the public and $11,671.97 from Dairy Queen’s sales.

Miracle Treat Day is held annually at Dairy Queen locations across Canada, with proceeds going toward local children’s hospitals through the Children’s Miracle Network.
