Two sent to hospital after vehicle incident which closed Highway 97 overnight
A person was airlifted to hospital in a critical condition after a vehicle incident on Highway 97 south of Dawson Creek on August 12th, according to BC Emergency Health Services.

DAWSON CREEK, B.C. — A person was airlifted to hospital in a critical condition after a vehicle incident south of Dawson Creek this week, according to BC Emergency Health Services (EHS).
The incident, which took place on a portion of Highway 97 south of Dawson Creek late at night on August 12th, saw the road closed for several hours before reopening at about 4 a.m. on the 13th.
Paramedic public information officer Brian Twaites said EHS was called to the scene of the collision shortly before 10 p.m. on the 12th.

“Four ambulances with primary care paramedics and a STARS air ambulance responded to the scene,” Twaites said. “Paramedics provided emergency medical treatment to two patients.”
One of those two patients was taken by the air ambulance in a critical condition, while the other was reportedly driven to hospital in a stable condition.
Further details about the incident are currently unavailable.
Energeticcity.ca contacted the Dawson Creek RCMP detachment for more information and has yet to receive a response.
