Debit machines at PRRD landfills now offline

Residents are being warned to bring cash with them to any landfills operated by the Peace River Regional District (PRRD) they plan to visit today.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Residents are being warned to bring cash with them to any landfills operated by the Peace River Regional District (PRRD) they plan to visit today.

According to an announcement at 2:22 p.m. July 24th, debit machines are currently down at all PRRD-operated landfills and waste transfer stations.

These sites are still accepting cash and coupons to dispose of waste.

According to a Facebook post from the district, the cause of the debit machine downtime is a regional internet outage. It’s currently unclear when debit service will be restored.
