Fort St. John RCMP appeal for witnesses after suspected arson

The Fort St. John RCMP is appealing for witnesses regarding the fire at the Golden Hands Barbershop on July 12th.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The Fort St. John RCMP detachment is seeking witnesses in relation to a suspected arson which occurred on the weekend.

The investigation stems from the incident at the Golden Hands Barbershop during the morning of July 12th.

At 3:37 a.m. on Saturday, police were called to the shop as a fire destroyed the business on 9200 block of 100 Street.

Members of the Fort St. John Fire Department and the RCMP’s forensic identification services unit were dispatched to the premises.

Business owners declared the incident “one of the darkest days” in the shop’s history and said they were “violated” by the fire. 

Police confirmed the investigation is still in “the early stages.”
