Four Fort Nelson wildfires downgraded to ‘being held’
Several wildfires in the Fort Nelson region have had their designations changed to ‘being held’ as the 2025 wildfire season continues.

FORT NELSON, B.C. — Several wildfires in the Fort Nelson region have had their designations changed to ‘being held’ as the 2025 wildfire season continues.
According to the latest update from the BC Wildfire Service website, four fires have had their designations downgraded from ‘out of control’ to ‘being held.’
That means they’re expected to stay within their current boundaries for the foreseeable future.
The following fires in the Fort Nelson fire zone were updated:
- The 13,517-hectare Terminus Mountain wildfire, discovered on May 28th.
- The 11,046-hectare Shekilie River north wildfire, discovered on June 2nd.
- The 163-hectare Pesh Creek south wildfire, discovered on May 27th.
- The 118-hectare wildfire adjacent to the Sikanni River, discovered on May 28th.
No evacuation orders or alerts have been issued as a result of any of these wildfires. Energeticcity.ca will share updates on these blazes as new information becomes available.
