Fort St. John follows suit to also issue heavy rainfall warning

The City of Fort St. John is warning residents of heavy rain starting on June 12th.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Heavy rain is expected to hit Fort St. John and people have been warned to be prepared. 

According to Environment Canada, periods of rain, heavy showers and high winds are forecasted starting on Thursday, June 12th until Saturday, June 14th. 

In a June 11th Facebook post, the City of Fort St. John encouraged residents to take precautions for the extreme weather.

Homeowners are asked to clear their storm drains, inspect their sump pumps and extend downspouts away from the house. 

The City of Dawson Creek also urged residents to prepare for the risk of flooding.
