$556,000 trail lighting projects approved for Fort St. John

City council approves over $550,000 in work on trail lighting throughout Fort St. John this year.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — City council is moving forward with a lighting project to improve safety on city trails. 

During the June 9th regular meeting, Fort St. John city council approved $556,000 for the installation of trail lights throughout the city. 

The work will be conducted by Northern Legendary Construction and is being paid for by a grant from the BC Active Transportation Infrastructure Grant the city applied for in October 2024.

Lights will be installed on trails around the city, such as on 86th Street and 72nd Street/Northern Lights Drive.

Work is expected to begin in the coming months and be finalized by the end of the year.
