New court hearing scheduled for former Dawson Creek councillor
Former Dawson Creek councillor Shaely Wilbur has had her hearing for a breach of trust charge rescheduled to June 24th.

Update, June 30th, 2:25 p.m.: Wilbur’s hearing was rescheduled again, and it is now due to take place on July 22nd, 2025.
DAWSON CREEK, B.C. — A former City of Dawson Creek councillor charged with a breach of trust has had her court date rescheduled.
Shaely Wilbur, who ran against current Dawson Creek Mayor Darcy Dober during the 2022 municipal election, was meant to appear in court on May 27th and again on June 3rd.

She’s facing one count of breach of trust related to an incident that allegedly took place in the city on December 1st, 2021.
According to Court Services Online, both the initial May 27th date and the rescheduled June 3rd court appearance were cancelled.
Wilbur now has to appear in court on June 24th. The previous hearings were reportedly adjourned so Wilbur could consult with legal counsel.
Outside of her mayoral campaign, Wilbur served as a councillor in Dawson Creek from 2012 to 2021.
