(UPDATE) Power outages around Dawson Creek resolved

Power outages have been reported in and around Dawson Creek.

Updated, June 3rd, 5 p.m.: Both the Fort St. John and Dawson Creek outages have been resolved and power has been restored.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Power outages have been reported for areas in Dawson Creek and Tomslake. 

BC Hydro says there are 994 residences impacted by an outage south of Highway 49.

Crews are on site investigating the problem, according to BC Hydro, which expects the issue to be resolved by 1 p.m.

There is a second outage in Dawson Creek on the 1200 block of 118th Avenue, impacting 51 households, but that is due to planned work on equipment, BC Hydro says. 

The electricity is expected to be restored by 6 p.m. for that block.

There was also briefly a loss of electricity on 11300 block on Alaska Road in Fort St. John due to planned work on equipment, but that has now been restored.
