Hearings rescheduled for three facing multiple charges including possessing stolen property

Three people arrested in February now have arraignment hearings scheduled for June 9th.

Updated May 29th 3:15 p.m.: Two of the upcoming hearings described in the article below have been rescheduled from June 9th to June 16th. The article below has been updated to reflect this change.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Three people arrested in February now have arraignment hearings scheduled for early June.

The three people were arrested as part of a group of five as part of an operation to recover a truck which had been reported stolen.

All charges against one of those five people have since been dropped. Three of the remaining people – Jack Capot-Blanc, Barbara Reno and Jakob Sherwood – initially had arraignment hearings scheduled for Monday, May 26th.

However, according to Court Services Online, Capot-Blanc’s hearing has been rescheduled for June 9th. Reno and Sherwood’s hearings have also been moved to June 16th.

Capot-Blanc has been charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, using an imitation firearm to commit an indictable offence, robbery, aggravated assault, possession of stolen property and breaching a probation order.

Reno faces charges of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and possession of stolen property, while Sherwood has been charged with robbery, aggravated assault and possession of stolen property.

The fourth person still facing charges related to this alleged incident – Gavin Davis – is awaiting a hearing regarding a judicial interim release (JIR).

Davis faces charges of possession of stolen property, robbery, aggravated assault, breaching a release order, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and two counts of using an imitation firearm to commit an indictable offence.

Davis’ JIR hearing is scheduled for Thursday, May 29th.
