Dawson Creek man faces drug trafficking charges following Grande Prairie arrest
A man from Dawson Creek, Daniel Davidson, was arrested May 3rd following an incident in Grande Prairie according to RCMP officers.

DAWSON CREEK, B.C. — A Dawson Creek resident has been arrested on an array of charges by the Grande Prairie RCMP detachment.
According to a press release from the detachment, shortly before 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 3rd, officers received a call about a vehicle parked in the area of Crystal Ridge.
It allegedly had a stolen licence plate, and officers say they later found the vehicle itself had been reported as stolen.

The detachment alleges that when officers arrived at the scene, they saw a man leave a nearby residence and get into the vehicle alone before attempting to drive away.
Afterwards, police claim, the man was halted by approaching officers and attempted to flee on foot before being taken into custody.
Officers went on to obtain a warrant to search the residence and the vehicle. They then say they seized:
- 2.6 kilograms of ketamine
- 13.5 grams of fentanyl
- 2.1 grams of methamphetamine
- 10.3 grams of cocaine
- Three capsules of MDMA
- A pill press and other drug trafficking paraphernalia

Daniel Davidson, a 41-year-old Dawson Creek resident, is now facing the following charges:
- Possession of a stolen vehicle
- Possession of a stolen licence plate
- Assault on a police officer with a weapon
- Assault on a police officer
- Resisting arrest
- Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
- Operating a motor vehicle while prohibited
- Failing to comply with a release order
- Three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking
After a hearing, Davidson was remanded into police custody, with his next court date set for May 12th in Grande Prairie.
“This is another example of how the Grande Prairie RCMP is reducing crime in the city and area,” said RCMP staff sergeant Brent Lawson. “This particular event was dynamic and we’re grateful for a safe resolution.”
No injuries were reported, and police officers are thanking the public for their assistance in the investigation.
