Man charged with kidnapping after attempted sexual assault reported in Dawson Creek

The Dawson Creek RCMP have charged a man with kidnapping after an attempted sexual assault on April 25th.

DAWSON CREEK, B.C. — A man has been charged with kidnapping after an alleged sexual assault attempt of a woman in Dawson Creek. 

According to the Dawson Creek RCMP, they received a report on April 25th before 4 a.m. of a male suspect attempting to force a female into his truck. 

Police say the victim reported they were able to escape and call the police.

David Dennis was arrested later that day and charged with kidnapping and invitation to sexual touching by BC Prosecution services.

The 56-year-old was later released on conditions pending a future court date.

The detachment said the investigation is still ongoing and will provide updates as more information becomes available.
