CHETWYND, B.C. — The BC Wildfire Service has listed a Federal Ranch area wildfire as ‘under control’ on Easter Monday.
Located northwest of Fort St. John, the fire was discovered by BCWS on Good Friday, April 18th. The size had remained unchanged at 10-hectares.
The news on April 21st means both fires reported at the start of the Easter long weekend, including the 46.6-hectare Wabi Hill fire south of Chetwynd are now ‘under control’.

The wildfire authority defines a fire ‘under control’ as one “not projected to spread beyond its current perimeter.”
Both fires are believed to have been caused by suspected human activity.
