One person airlifted following snowmobile accident
North Peace Search and Rescue says one person was airlifted from a field north of Fort St. John on Friday evening following a snowmobile accident.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — One person was extracted from a field north of Fort St. John by North Peace Search and Rescue on Friday evening following a snowmobile accident.
According to BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) spokesperson Bowen Osoko, a call was received about the incident at 4:46 p.m. on Friday, March 28th.
“An ambulance with primary care paramedics [was] staged at Fort St. John Airport,” said Osoko.
North Peace Search and Rescue (NPSAR) said on Facebook it received a request for assistance from BC Ambulance Service and a rapid response team was deployed with Bailey Helicopters just after 5 p.m.
“The rapid response team was able to manage the task quickly with fading daylight and transferred the subject to BC Ambulance via helicopter,” said the post.
NPSAR search manager and president Brian Lamond told Energeticcity.ca the individual was located in a field off Cypress Creek Road.
“The helicopter team was successful in gaining access to the subject and bringing him back to Fort St. John Airport,” said Lamond.

Osoko says the patient received emergency medical treatment and was transported to the hospital in a serious condition.
Lamond says the response team performed “excellently” in the operation.
“We had good cooperation with our team members and a good response by Baileys Helicopters to make a machine and a pilot available for us to fly to the site,” Lamond explained.
