Behind the Scenes

The 2025 Canadian Federal Election is officially underway! Announced on March 23, we will be going to the polls on April 28. Throughout the next few weeks, we plan on being your one-stop shop for everything going on in the Prince George – Peace River – Northern Rockies riding.

Already, we have had multiple candidates announced for our riding. As of this writing, incumbent MP Bob Zimmer is running once more with the Conservative Party, David Watson is representing the People’s Party of Canada, Mary Forbes is the candidate for the Green Party, and Cory Longley​ will be running under the NDP banner.

As we get into the swing of things, we want to hear from you. Fill out our survey and let us know what are the most important topics for you this election cycle. We will then take your questions and ask them to the candidates running to help you decide who to vote for. The survey closes March 31​, so make sure to fill it out while you can and share with friends and family.

Most-Read Stories of the Week

It’s always interesting to see what the readers of Energeticcity.ca are most curious about. Sometimes it’s a big decision that will impact property taxes, and sometimes it’s a new restaurant coming to town. Here are the most-read stories for the week of March 23 to 29, 2025:

  1. Regional District Seeks Legal Advice:​ into the Site C camp dismantling. The 1,700-bed camp consists of 21 three-story dorm units, 39 three-story corridors, 131 kitchen, dining and recreation units, 24 modular offices, a fitness building, a gymnasium and a theatre. 
  2. Rock Slide North of Fort St John:​ was reported on March 25, 2025. Traffic was delayed until the road was cleared​ on March 27 by Dawson Road Maintenance.
  3. Candidates Announced:​ for the 2025 Federal Election in the Prince George – Peace River – Northern Rockies riding. As of this writing, we have a candidates for the Conservatives, People’s Party of Canada, Green Party,​ and the NDP.
