Woman found dead in Chetwynd, RCMP investigating as suspicious

CHETWYND, B.C. — Police officers are reportedly investigating a suspicious death in Chetwynd.

According to an RCMP press release, on March 9th, officers were called to a home in the community after members of the Chetwynd Fire Department and Emergency Health Services personnel responded to a call for a person in medical distress.

When police arrived, they discovered an adult woman was dead at the scene.

The B.C. RCMP’s Major Crime Section has reportedly taken control of the investigation, according to the release, and officers do not believe there is any risk to the public at this time.

No arrests have been made, and no further information is currently available. Officers say more details could be released in the future.
