Pedestrian struck and killed after collapsing: Vancouver Police

VANCOUVER — Police in Vancouver say they’re investigating a crash that left a pedestrian dead in the city’s Fairview neighbourhood Friday night.

They say the man in his 50s had been standing along West 12th Avenue near Hemlock Street when it appears he collapsed and fell onto the road, where he was struck by a vehicle.

It happened at about 10 p.m.

Police say the man died at the scene.

They say the driver did not stop and hasn’t been found.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or who has dash camera or security footage is asked to call the Vancouver Police Department.
