FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Below are the latest sentences handed down from the Fort St. John and Dawson Creek Provincial Courts from March 3rd to 7th.

Fort St. John Provincial Court sentencing, March 3rd

Landon Donald Beasley (born 2004):

Beasley was found guilty of mischief $5,000 or under for an incident in Fort St. John on July 9th, 2024. Beasley was issued a conditional discharge and a six-month probation order. A conditional discharge means the record won’t show a conviction if Beasley meets the conditions the judge sets.

John Robert Beattie (born 1970):

Beattie was found guilty of two counts of driving while disqualified under the Canadian Criminal Code, and one count each of driving while prohibited and/or with a suspended licence and impaired operation of a motor vehicle, for incidents in Fort St. John on May 21st and October 17th, 2024.

Beattie was sentenced to a total of 408 days in jail. Beattie was also issued $2,000 in fines, a five-year driving prohibition and ordered to pay a $75 victim surcharge, which goes towards helping the victims of a crime.

David Edward Clish (born 1977):

Clish was found guilty of theft $5,000 or under for an incident in Fort St. John on February 26th, 2024. Clish was issued a suspended sentence, where the accused is given conditions to follow, and a one-year probation order.

Jessica Rae Hogan (born 1993):

Hogan was found guilty of theft $5,000 or under for an incident in Fort St. John on April 14th, 2024. Hogan was issued a conditional discharge and a 12-month probation order.

Dusty Kastin Mocassin Oker Desjarlais (born 1994):

Oker Desjarlais was found guilty of assault and assault with intent to resist arrest for incidents in Rose Prairie and Doig River on March 21st and August 28th, 2024. 

For the assault charge, Oker Desjarlais was issued a suspended sentence, an 18-month probation order, a $100 victim surcharge and a three-year firearm prohibition.

Meanwhile, for the charge of assault with intent to resist arrest, Oker Desjarlais was issued another $100 victim surcharge and a 45-day conditional sentence, which is a sentence to be served outside of jail under strict conditions, sometimes called “house arrest.” 

Jaskaran Singh (born 1998):

Singh was found guilty of driving while prohibited and/or with a suspended licence, for an incident in Fort St. John on April 8th, 2024. Singh was issued a $500 fine, a $75 victim surcharge, and a one-year driving prohibition.

Harold Joseph Thompson (born 1996):

Thompson was found guilty of fraud for an incident in Fort St. John on July 16th, 2024. Thompson received a suspended sentence and a one-year probation order.

Dawson Creek Provincial Court sentencing, March 4th

Jeffrey Seipp (born 1995):

Seipp was found guilty of breaking and entering and committing an indictable offence, fraud, assault, forcible entry, two counts of mischief $5,000 or under and three counts of breaching a release order for incidents in Prince George, Chetwynd, Moberly Lake and Tumbler Ridge.

The incidents took place between June of 2022 and December of 2023.

Seipp was issued conditional sentences totalling 909 days. Seipp was also issued nine 12-month probation orders and ordered to report for DNA sample collection.
