College campus to close for day amid Dawson Creek water main break

The Northern Lights College campus in Dawson Creek will be closed on February 28th, 2025 because of a water main break.

DAWSON CREEK, B.C. — The Northern Lights College campus in Dawson Creek will be closed tomorrow because of a water main break.

The City of Dawson Creek posted on Facebook at about 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 27th to alert residents to the water main break on 116th Avenue. 

It said crews are working to assess the situation.

At around 6 p.m., Northern Lights College also posted on Facebook to notify parents and students that its Dawson Creek campus would be closed on Friday, February 28th because of the incident. 

It is “working closely” with the City of Dawson Creek to resolve the issue, it added. 

Skilled trades exams due to take place tomorrow will go ahead, with staff on hand to help students enter the building.

There will also be notices on doors with information.
