Bidding open: Online art auction raising funds for seniors

The North Peace Seniors Housing Society (NPSHS) online art auction is now open on Facebook for the public to bid on unique pieces.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — An online art auction is now open to the public, offering the opportunity to bid on unique art pieces. 

The North Peace Seniors Housing Society (NPSHS) auction invites people to bid on items such as canvas, a unique box of salt and pepper shakers, collector’s items and much more. 

According to NPSHS executive director Tracy Ray, all funds raised will be used to repair the NPSHS’s building and establish an emergency fund for hot water tanks and a heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system.

“We’re hoping that it reaches all of Fort St. John to get our building up to a better standard,” said Ray. 

As of Tuesday, February 4th, the society has raised $15,000 of a $62,000 total goal. 

“The community has been very generous in many regards. If we could get that amount donated,  it would give us the final amount to reach our goal,” said Ray.

The auction started on February 3rd and will run until February 7th.
