According to Sherri Collins, coordinator for the NPCA, said: “[The fundraiser] is a whole bunch of rural local people gathering together to have some fun.

“We’ve got live auctions, silent auctions, we’ve got an amazing dinner, we’ve got dinner music by Debbie Butler and Bill Fitch.”

Collins joined Energeticcity.ca’s Steve Berard on This Week in the Peace back in August 2024 to promote the NPCA’s Emergency Livestock Response Project.

The project consisted of purchasing a sixteen-foot enclosed trailer to transport inventory and a portable livestock handling system that can be brought to emergencies, such as rolled-over cattle liners.

According to Collins, money raised from the fundraiser will help maintain the equipment.

At the auction, people can bid on items such as certificates, firefighting equipment, gift baskets and more.

“It’ll be a fun night,” said Collins.

Tickets are $80 each and are being sold at 8 Seconds Western Wear, 10036 Beaver Road, Fort St. John.

Collins says tickets are selling fast and encourages those interested to book their spot at their earliest convenience.

“Tickets are going well. There are still a few tickets left, but I wouldn’t dawdle,” said Collins.
