“As soon as I saw [the clock] hit zero, it’s crazy,” said Bowie from his home in Toronto. “It may be hard to describe. You’re just so happy in that moment with guys that basically became your brothers over two weeks.

“You’re just at an all-time high, hugging everybody, taking all the pictures. It was pretty unreal.”

Bowie, who cut his hockey teeth with the Northeast BC Trackers program, had two goals and four assists in the two-week hockey tournament that took place until January 22nd.

He helped Canada win its sixth goal medal since ice hockey began at the World University Games in 1962.

Bowie played in 222 games for the Western Hockey League’s (WHL) Prince George Cougars from 2018 to 2022, serving as an associate captain his last two seasons.

He currently plays for Toronto Metropolitan University’s (TMU) men’s team. The squad is ranked ninth in Canada in USport with a 13-9 record in the 2024-25 season.

Going forward, Bowie’s focus is on heading to the University Cup, the USports men’s hockey championship, taking place in Ottawa starting on March 20th.
