Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for the Pine Pass portion of Highway 97, saying a storm system crossing the interior of the province is expected to bring 10 to 15 centimetres of snowfall to the area.

“Snowfall in the Pine Pass area is expected to intensify this evening and taper off to a few flurries by early Friday morning,” the warning reads.

“Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.”
