Northern BC Crime Stoppers reports an “exceptional year”

PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. — In its 40th year of operating, Northern BC Crime Stoppers is calling 2024 a great year for the program.

In a January 3rd press release, the organization received 979 tips in 2024.

Throughout the year, tips submitted to Northern BC Crime Stoppers led to the recovery of $371,400 worth of cash, drugs, and other property.

These items include $11,200 in recovered property, $284,700 in drugs, and $75,500 in cash.

Since starting in 1985, Crime Stoppers has seized $40 million worth of illicit items. 

The report also shares that the service has maintained its partnership with Shred-it Mobile Shredding Services, Mr. Mikes, PGSS, and School District 57.

Crime Stoppers announced that it is continuing its Community Shred-it event in Prince George on Saturday, April 26th, 2025.

The event will be held at the Prince George Secondary School (PGSS) parking lot from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. 

This allows people to properly dispose of personal documents in a safe and secure manner for $10 per box.

The organization’s board of directors is thanking the citizens of Northern BC for the information they provided throughout 2024. 

Special thanks were also given to Northern BC RCMP detachments for their continuing support.
