Happy New Year! As we head into 2025, we wanted to take a moment to look back at the year that was 2024. From wildfires to Site C nearing completion to the provincial election, our reporters were on the ground in the community covering these important stories. It’s always interesting to see what the readers of Energeticcity.ca are most curious about. Sometimes it’s a big decision that will impact property taxes, and sometimes it’s a new restaurant coming to town. Here are the most-read stories for the week of December 29, 2024 to January 4, 2025:

1. Two Diversions Hit Dawson Creek Hospital:​ over the weekend of December 28-29, 2024. Northern Health announced that the closures were due to “staffing challenges.”
2. The Hitching Post Pub Opens Soon:​ in Fort St John. Local resident Danny Lapine took to Facebook to announce the imminent opening of his restaurant and pay tribute to Casey’s Pub and Grill.
3. Guns and Drugs Seized:​ during a traffic stop in Fort St John. Police officers say “a little dishonesty” during the traffic stop led to a 39-year-old woman being arrested.
