Member of parliament shares hopes for a spring federal election
Member of Parliament Bob Zimmer says he is looking forward to the new year and all that is to come in politics.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Member of Parliament Bob Zimmer says he is looking forward to the new year and all that is to come in politics.
Bob Zimmer, the member of parliament for Prince George, Peace River North, and Northern Rockies, joined Steve Berard on the December 20th episode of This Week in the Peace.
Zimmer explained he was looking forward to a federal election in 2025, ideally concluding with the Conservative Party forming federal government.
“There’s a lot of things that need to be fixed, so that’s my focus. What kind of policies do we need to see our country get moving again,” Zimmer said.
Specifically, Zimmer pointed to the resource sector and the economy, and the importance of improving both these and more.
Zimmer stated he is hoping for a spring election once the federal government and the House of Commons return to session in January.
“[The Conservative Party is] just fighting to get to the start line. And once we hopefully win that election, then we have to get to work and get the work done,” Zimmer said.
