Fort St. John announces garbage collection changes during holiday season

The City of Fort St. John has announced updates to the Garbage and recycling schedule in December due to the holiday season.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The City of Fort St. John has announced updates to the Garbage and recycling schedule in December due to the holiday season. 

The garbage collection days usually occur on Wednesdays but will be temporarily moved to Thursdays to accommodate holiday hours for the next two weeks. 

According to the city’s X (Twitter) page, Garbage and Recycling Day, which was on December 25th, has been moved to the 26th.

Garbage day on January 1st, 2025, was also moved to January 2nd. 

The city also announced its holiday hours for facilities in the municipality. 

City Hall, the Fire Department, Parks, Public Works, and the Bylaw offices will be closed from 2:30 p.m. on December 24th until the 26th and on January 1st, 2025.

The Fort St. John RCMP detachments front counter and the North Peace Leisure Pool will be closed at 4 p.m. on December 24th and 31st. The counter will also be closed on December 25th, 26th, and January 1st, 2025.
