FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — A Fort St. John Senior Flyers game scheduled for December 21st against the Valleyview Jets has been postponed again.

It was initially scheduled for December 7th, but all North Peace Hockey League (NPHL) games were cancelled on that date due to freezing rain in the area.

Team president Paul Van Nostrand said in a statement the further suspension was due to a lack of on-ice officials.

He concluded the game will be made up “sometime” in January 2025.

The game was scheduled to be the team’s annual Teddy Bear Toss, in which spectators are encouraged to throw stuffed animals onto the ice after the team’s first goal.

Currently, the Flyers are enjoying their first victory of the season, a grinding 8-7 win over the High Prairie Regals, which was a come-from-behind win.
