PRRD opens nominations for Area B by election

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. –  The Peace River Regional District (PRRD) has announced some of the dates surrounding the upcoming by-election for Area B. 

On December 11th, the PRRD announced that nominations were now open for residents interested in becoming the new director of Area B. The necessary by-election will commence on January 7th, with nominations being accepted by the PRRD until January 17th. 

General voting day for the election will be February 22nd, and any applicable resident can apply for the position, to serve as a member of local government.

Qualifications for the role include being a Canadian citizen 18 years of age or older on general voting day, and being a resident of British Columbia for at least six months before the day nomination papers are filed.

Nominations can be submitted to the PRRD in person at their offices in Fort St. John and Dawson Creek, or online. Forms are also available in person, or by request from PRRD staff.
