FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — BC RCMP officers say a wide variety of job opportunities are available in rural, coastal, and urban communities in the police force’s North District.

According to a December 13th media release, applicants from BC can choose a “flexible posting plan” that allows them to return to BC after they complete their training.

“[The] North District is home to numerous limited duration and isolated posts,” says the release.

“These are more remote areas with fixed contracts that allow officers to either remain in the communities for an extension or apply to specialized units or other communities to gain more experience in their careers.”

Additionally, Government-owned housing is available for postings in Fort Nelson, Mackenzie, and Tumbler Ridge.

The detachment also says its recruiting team will be in Prince George on January 24th and 25th, 2025, so applicants can meet with recruiters in person.

“Your recruiter will review your application documents, discuss posting options in the North, and speak about timelines and next steps for your application,” said the release.

The RCMP can be reached by email at bcrcmp_recruiting@rcmp-grc.gc.ca with “North District Recruiting” in the subject line.

The email must include your name, applicant ID (for those who have one), current address, current stage of application, and your top three detachments in order of preference.
