FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Below are the latest sentences handed down from the Fort St. John and Dawson Creek Provincial Courts from December 2nd to 6th.

Fort St. John Provincial Court sentencing, December 2nd

Jeffrey Irving Apsassin (born 1982):

Apsassin was found guilty of breaching a release order for an incident in Fort St. John on June 9th, 2024. 

Apsassin was issued a suspended sentence, where the accused is given conditions to follow. They also received a one-year probation order and a $100 victim surcharge, which goes towards helping victims of a crime.

Jesse Edward Boake (born 1982):

Boake was found guilty of possession of a controlled substance and impaired operation of a conveyance, for incidents in Fort St. John. 

Boake was issued a one-year criminal driving prohibition, sentenced to forfeiture, which allows the government to seize property and assets “tainted” by crime, and was fined a combined total of $1,200.

Travis Dean Cress (born 1993):

Cress was found guilty of drug or alcohol impaired operation for an incident in Fort St. John on October 1st 2023. Cress was sentenced to 22 days of jail time and received a two-year criminal driving prohibition.

Kayla Marie Gladue (born 1988):

Gladue was found guilty of driving while prohibited and/or with a suspended license for an incident in Fort St. John on March 12th, 2024. Gladue was fined $500, as well as a $75 victim surcharge.

Shandel Christine Annemarie Harrison (born 1991):

Harrison was found guilty of three counts of breach of a release order, one count of theft $5,000 or under, one count of possession of stolen property $5,000 or under, and one count of breach of an undertaking, for incidents in Fort St. John between December of 2023 and August of 2024.

Harrison received five suspended sentences, five 15-month probation orders, and was sentenced to jail time served.

Keith Douglas Hennick (born 1975):

Hennick was found guilty of one count of breaching an undertaking and three counts of breaching a release order. Hennick received four 18 month probation orders and four suspended sentences. Hennick also received a $500 recognizance after the allegation for an assault charge. If Hennick fails to follow the conditions laid out by the court, they will need to pay the $500.

Matthew Robert Kyllo (born 1998):

Kyllo plead guilty to the lesser included sentence of driving a motor vehicle without due care and attention for an incident in Fort St. John on February 17th, 2024. Kyllo was issued a $1,000 fine, a $150 victim surcharge, and a one-year driving prohibition.

Darien Lebleu (born 1994):

Lebleu was found guilty of assault and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, for an incident in Fort St. John on May 16th, 2024. 

Lebleu was issued a conditional discharge for each charge, as well as two one-year probation orders and $200 in victim surcharges. A conditional discharge means the record won’t show a conviction if a person meets the conditions the judge sets.

Arlen Kane Marshall (born 1982):

Marshall was found guilty of driving while prohibited and/or with a suspended license for an incident in Fort St. John on May 21st, 2024. Marshall was fined $500 and issued a $75 victim surcharge.

Dawson Creek Provincial Court sentencing, December 3rd:

Bobbie Ellen Jane Cardinal (born 1982):

For a charge of assault causing bodily harm, Cardinal was issued a suspended sentence, an 18 month probation order, a $100 victim surcharge, and ordered to report for DNA sample collection.

Katrine Alisha Letendre (born 1986):

Letendre was found guilty of mischief, two counts of breach of a release order, and two counts of theft $5,000 or under. Letendre was sentenced to 18 days in jail in addition to jail time served, and also received four 12-month probations.

Courtney Myers (born 1999):

Myers was found guilty of flight from police, driving while prohibited and/or with a suspended license, taking or occupying a vehicle or vessel without the consent of its owner, and mischief to property over $5,000. 

Myers was made to pay $2,000 in fines, including a $75 victim surcharge. Myers was also sentenced to three years of probation and prohibited from driving for the next two years.

Torah Nancy-Jane Pallister (born 1982): 

Pallister pled guilty to the lesser included charge of causing a fear of injury or damage to a person or property, for an incident in Fort St. John on March 5th, 2024. Pallister was issued a $500 recognizance after the allegation. If Pallister does not follow the conditions laid out by the court, they will have to pay the $500.

William Robert Frederick Russell (born 1992):

Russell was found guilty of theft over $5,000 for an incident in Chetwynd on May 31st, 2022. Russell was issued a 30-day conditional sentence, which is a sentence to be served outside of jail under strict conditions, sometimes called “house arrest.” 

Russell also received a 12-month probation order and was ordered to pay $8,537.52 in restitution, which requires the offender to pay the victim for financial losses the victim suffered because of the crime.
