Since it is officially December, our friends at 100.1 Moose FM have a ton of fun activities to help you enjoy the holiday season. Do you go all out for your Christmas decorating? Make sure to add your house to the FSJ Return-It Best Decked map so others can enjoy as well! Then, we have the Christmas Lights Tour​ presented by the City of Fort St John on December 17 & 18.

Before that though, starting on Monday, there is the 21st Annual Toy Drive​ happening at Home Hardware thanks in partnership with STRAIT. Drop off toys until December 14 to help local families have a great holiday season. To spread more holiday cheer, make sure to nominate someone for the CDN Moment of Light​ until December 23. Every day someone will be given $500!

To help you shop local this holiday season, we have the 12 Days of Moose-mas​ presented by the City of Fort St John starting tomorrow and the Bold Promotions Hometown Holiday Gift Guide for a list of local businesses and artisans to check out.

And finally, if your kid is worried about getting a hold of Santa with the Canada Post strike, make sure to tune in to Calls to Santa​ presented by LP on December 19 & 20. They can talk directly to the big man to make sure they’re covered.

It’s always interesting to see what the readers of Energeticcity.ca are most curious about. Sometimes it’s a big decision that will impact property taxes, and sometimes it’s a new restaurant coming to town. Here are the most-read stories for the week of December 1 to 7, 2024:

  1. Missing Hunter’s Dog Located:​ on November 28, 2024. Murphy, who was with Jim Barnes when we went missing in October, was located near Wonowon. North Peace SAR resumed their search​ but have once again stood down as the investigation continues.
  2. $25K Ticket Purchased in Fort St John: among BC’s Lotto 6/49 Winners. The ticket was one of six within BC to win 40 guaranteed prizes nationwide.
  3. CEO Alleges BRFN Threats, Financial Mismanagement, and Leadership Struggles: amid audit pushback. The Council of Blueberry River First Nation has since released a statement​ that they would be taking back control of Blueberry River Resources and claimed the leaked memo does not “show the full picture.”
