UPDATE: As of 7 a.m., the travel advisory has been extended to include Highway 97 from Taylor to Wonowon, Highway 29 from Mile 54 of the Alaska Highway to Hudson’s Hope and the Cecil Lake Road from the Rose Prairie Road to the B.C. border.

Drivebc.ca has issued a travel advisory for all highways in the South Peace. The warning includes Highway 97 Taylor and Dawson Creek and then between Chetwynd and Dawson Creek.

The warning is also in effect for Highway 29 from Hudson’s Hope to Tumbler Ridge, Highway 52 N and Highway 2 from Dawson Creek to the Alberta Border.

As of 6 a.m., a freezing rain warning is in effect for the North and South Peace. On Wednesday, freezing rain has only fallen in the South Peace.

The freezing rain warning extends into Alberta and Grande Prairie. Freezing rain is expected in that region from the B.C. border to Grande Prairie, and it could reach Whitecourt later in the day on Wednesday.
