The Northern Health Authority issued a drug advisory warning on Wednesday, November 27th, for Prince George after discovering dangerous substances in a recently sold tablet.

PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. — The Northern Health Authority issued a drug advisory warning on Wednesday, November 27th, for Prince George after discovering dangerous substances in a recently sold tablet.
According to Northern Health, a white, 8mg tablet sold as Dilaudid, a painkiller some recreational drug users call “Dilly,” tested positive for fentanyl.
“The pill looks very similar to a prescription Dilaudid or Hydromorphone,” says the alert.

According to the Government of Canada, Hydromorphone is an opioid drug prescribed for long-term pain management.
The authority advises people to get overdose prevention and response training and carry naloxone.
Another toxic drug alert was issued for the city on November 1st after a purple drug sold as “down” had tested positive for high levels of fentanyl and bromazolam (benzodiazepine).
Support is also offered at Prince George’s Overdose Prevention Sites, including the Prince George Harm Reduction Clinic located at 277 George Street.
