The Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) seeks to raise awareness of its services among Fort St. John residents.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) seeks to raise awareness of its services among Fort St. John residents.
“Our mission is to improve the lives of people affected by cancer by offering a wide range of free services designed to assist individuals and families facing cancer,” says Arbina Rexhaj, a recruitment coordinator for CCS.
CCS offers financial assistance, travel and accommodation support, and transportation services.

The society is also recruiting volunteers to help with its services around the province. Volunteers would connect with the community, spread awareness, and help implement the programs.
“We are also focusing on recruiting local volunteers who can help create connections within the community, spread awareness, and support the implementation of our programs,” said Rexhaj.
CCS volunteers would also speak with local organizations or groups and attend local events, potentially giving presentations to promote cancer initiatives.
In September, the 2024 Cops for Cancer Tour de North made its way through the city, raising money for the society.
