Borealis Clothing Co. to close in Fort St. John

Another women’s clothier has decided to shut down as of the end of 2024.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Another women’s clothier has decided to shut down as of the end of 2024.

Located on 9536 111th Street in Fort St. John, Borealis Clothing Co. will close as of December 31st, according to storeowner Lori Bolin.

The store opened in April 2017.

“Thank you to The Gateway Plaza for my home where all of my dreams came true,” reads a statement from Bolin on Friday, November 29th.

“[Thank you] to our customers over the last seven years for their stories, their friendship and support.  I truly have loved them all, and appreciate you all.”

Borealis’s website describes the store as a “cute little boutique” with “big city fashions.”

Specializing in apparel, women’s accessories, and footwear, its Instagram page has 2,000 plus followers.

The store will continue its Black Friday sale through Monday, December 2nd, with 40 percent off storewide before commencing a clearance sale through New Year’s Eve.

Calls from Energeticcity.ca to Bolin were not returned by publication time.

A guy who found his calling later in life, Edward Hitchins is a professional storyteller with a colourful and extensive history.

Beginning his journey into journalism in 2012 at Seneca College, Edward also graduated from Humber College with an Advanced Diploma in Print and Broadcast Journalism in 2018.  After time off from his career and venturing into other vocations, he started his career proper in 2022 in Campbell River, B.C.

Edward was attracted to the position of Indigenous Voices reporter with Energeticcity as a challenge.  Having not been around First Nations for the majority of his life, he hopes to learn about their culture through meaningful conversations while properly telling their stories. 

In a way, he hopes this position will allow both himself and Energeticcity to grow as a collective unit as his career moves forward and evolves into the next step.

He looks forward to growing both as a reporter and as a human being while being posted in Fort St. John.
