FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Local basketball program FSJ Flight is partnering with car dealership Fort Motors to give kids in need a memorable Christmas.

The “Fill the Bronco” campaign began on November 26th. The goal is to fill the aforementioned Ford vehicle with gifts for the local charity FSJ Kids in Care.

Blake Fleming, the sales consultant behind Fort Motors’ campaign, has also been a head coach for the Flight program for the past nine years.

Fleming is putting together separate campaigns for Kids in Care and the Fort St. John Women’s Resource Society.

“I’m a huge supporter of youth in our community,” said Fleming. “ So this campaign is definitely near and dear to my heart.”

“I want to try and ensure everyone has a happy and fulfilled holiday season.”

A list of items include stuffed animals, art supplies, sports equipment, puzzles and games, and backpacks are among the items listed.

According to Fleming, foster children entering their teenage years are the most overlooked. Also largely overseen are children “aging out” and heading independently for the first time.

Fleming says bathroom products, makeup and beauty items, pots and pans, and bedding are ideal for those kids.

Community residents can make donations at Fort Motors, located at 11104 Alaska Road, Unit 7, in Fort St. John, until about December 20th.

Further information is available through the “Christmas gifts for Kids in Care – FSJ” or The Fort Motors Facebook pages.
