UPDATE 1:00 p.m. November 26th: The power outage has ended.

UPDATE 12:40 p.m. November 26th: Power has been restored in some areas after a crew arrived on site. The estimated time of restoration is 12:50 p.m.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — More than 2,000 BC Hydro customers are without power in downtown Fort St. John.

The outage began at 11:55 a.m. on Tuesday, November 26th, impacting Hydro customers in an area centered near the corner of 93rd Avenue and 93rd Street, according to the utility’s outage map.

2,127 customers are reportedly affected, and according to BC Hydro, the incident was caused by a motor vehicle accident.

BC Hydro says a crew has been assigned to the outage, but has provided no estimate for when power will be restored in the area.
