Canadian Grind exceeds fundraising goal by more than $3000
The Canadian Grind Coffee and Tea Cafe announced that its 2024 Poppy Donut Fundraiser raised nearly $14,000 for the Fort St John Legion.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The Canadian Grind Coffee and Tea Cafe announced that its 2024 Poppy Donut Fundraiser raised nearly $14,000 for the Fort St John Legion.
A total of $13,850 was raised, exceeding its initial goal of $10,000.Â
“We are so grateful to our customers and the entire Fort St. John community for their incredible generosity,” says the cafe’s owner, Lynette Helm.

In a November 26th media release, the company says it sells special poppy-themed donuts yearly, with all funds raised going to the Legion.Â
The cafe sold over 500 dozen poppy donuts, contributing to the funds raised.
“Giving back is at the core of what we do at The Canadian Grind—we are a small, locally owned business, and supporting the people and organizations that make our community special is incredibly important to us,” said Helm.
Since starting the fundraiser in 2020, more than $30,000 has been raised.Â
