FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Northern Development Initiative Trust (NDIT) has published its annual report for 2023, highlighting its initiatives across 10 regional districts and regional municipalities in Northern B.C.

According to the annual report, NDIT approved almost $2 million in grants for community development projects and $2.7 million in capacity-building projects throughout the year. 

Across the trust’s service area, approximately 400 projects received funding in 2023.

In Northeast B.C., $1.98 million in funding was provided for 28 projects through regional community development programs, 20 projects through regional capacity building programs, and nine projects through regional business development programs. 

Some Northeast B.C. projects highlighted in the report included renovations to the Dawson Creek Golf and Country Club, which the trust assisted with by providing a $99,600 Recreation Infrastructure grant.

The trust also provided a $30,000 Community Places grant to the Pine Valley Seniors Association in Chetwynd. The grant assisted in a full renovation of the kitchen facilities.
