In their post, Northern Health explained the service interruption was due to ‘staffing challenges,’ and encouraged patients seeking non-urgent care to visit their primary care provider or call the Northern Health Virtual Primary and Community Care Clinic.

Patients seeking life-threatening emergency care were directed to call 9-1-1, and would have been transported to the nearest open Northern Health facility.

This is the third diversion at the Chetwynd Hospital in the month of November.
